Call for Abstracts The Sanitation Challenge 19-21 May 2008
In the United Nations’ International Year of Sanitation an IWA conference is organized in Wageningen, the Netherlands to scientifically discuss new sanitation concepts and techniques, models of governance and experiences from all over the world.
The sanitation challenge in the Western world is to initiate a transition from strongly centralized, water based towards more sustainable, source separated oriented, sanitation regimes. This calls for scientific research and demonstration on different levels and scales , including concept and technology development, institutional learning and governance building.
The conference deliberately aims to create a dialogue between civil, process, agricultural and environmental engineers; urban planners, sociologists, economists, and political scientists who are involved in international sanitation research and implementation.
