Call for Submissions – Water Integrity Case Information Sheets

What are Case Information Sheets?

Corruption in the water sector both puts at risk the lives of billions of people and slows development. Yet, there are many individuals, organisations and initiatives worldwide that have developed creative and effective ways to enhance water integrity.
The Case Information Sheets are an initiative to support local action and disseminate this information on a global level. They are authored by individuals and groups who have suffered from the negative impacts of corruption on water provision and therefore initiated successful local actions to improve their situation. These groups would like to share their experiences with others.

Examples of such initiatives are the introduction of a Citizens Director in a water utility in Bolivia, community meetings to educate themselves about their water entitlements in Uganda, or the access to information policies of the Colombian water regulator.
Case Information Sheets offer real and practical experiences with corruption issues in a particular context and the efforts by local, national or global initiatives to combat these problems. The Case Information Sheets show that there is no blueprint to fight corruption, but that there are many ways towards water integrity. By giving examples of how a particular anti-corruption strategy has worked in a given context, we hope to encourage other members to take action.

How to submit your case?

Case Information Sheets are quick and easy to produce. The contributor completes a two-page questionnaire, which will be reviewed by two other WIN members from the region. The selection takes place based on the criteria of credibility, reliability, relevance towards water integrity, usefulness for other WIN members, integrity, style and diversity.
Selected contributions receive an award of Euro 300. All Case Information Sheets must be submitted in English and the local language. They will be published in the layout of the series (see example) and profiled on the WIN website and WIN newsletter.

If you would like to submit a Case Information Sheet about your initiative that promotes water integrity or fights corruption, please complete the Submission Form and send it to info@win-s.org).

Case Information Sheets will be selected throughout the year.
