Preventing Corruption in Water Projects through Awareness Generation among the Farmering Community
Micro Grant (MG2), 2,000 EUR
Polluting industries are mushrooming due to poor legislation and environmental law enforcement. The major water basins of Tamilnadu are heavily polluted with industrial effluents. Most agriculture is devastated and the groundwater is also contaminated. The quality and quantity of water are endangered without proper planning and action by the Authorities.
The main objectives of the project are to promote the use of traditional technologies, to facilitate coalition-building to create a pressure point for redress by the Government Authorities and to build alliances with the media to raise awareness about corruption in local water projects.
