Training and Systemization of Good Practices on Transparency, Accountability and Access to Information in the Rural Water System Administration in Honduras
Small Grant (SG12), 10,000 EUR
In rural communities, water systems have been and are managed by community water boards which receive technical assistance, training and support from larger water agencies. However, most of the training and support is focused on technical and administrative aspects, with little capacity on transparency, accountability and access to information. This creates ample opportunities for corruption and mis-management.
The project aims to document good practice on transparency, accountability and access to information to aid construction and better administration of the rural water systems in Honduras. The initial focus will be on training sustainability promoters of the National Water and Sewage Service Agency to replicate training and raise anti-corruption awareness and facilitate dialogue among their respective water boards and communities. Initial training will be administered by RASHON and IRC.
