In March 2010, the Water Integrity Network (WIN) convened an expert consultation on one of its new thematic priorities – climate change, water and corruption. The event report is now available for download on the WIN website here.
During the meeting, the importance of taking the issue of climate change into consideration when tackling corruption in the water sector was highlighted. Changing climate and the resulting new funding and adaptation projects will likely lead to increased and new forms of corruption in the water sector. It is therefore urgent to confront this growing issue as, at the same time, water is becoming more of a scarce resource.
