DESCRIPTION

It is easier for colleagues or third parties to take advantage of staff if staff have a low understanding or lack awareness of internal processes and procedures (e.g. for procurement, recruitment, etc.) or technical regulations. If governance structures, sector regulations, and organizational rules are not clearly defined, the organization lacks a level playing field for its staff. But even if rules and regulations are clearly defined, they are not likely to be put into action if staff and managers are not knowledgeable about them.
