2021 saw the continuation of the pandemic across the world. COVID-19 has set back the programmes to meet SDG 6 and has pushed millions of people back into poverty. At the same time, it brought to light the critical need for better water and sanitation for those left behind and the widespread corruption in emergency responses. It lent ever more urgency to the work of WIN in promoting integrity in order to ensure that everyone has access to safe and reliable water and sanitation services.
In this context, and despite the practical challenges of dealing with the pandemic especially for in-country partners, WIN continued to make progress in promoting integrity management practices around the world, as a thought leader, influencer, and convenor.
